The Tied roller secondary clutch is made in the USA. It is a more efficient, longer lasting, replacement for 2020+ XP 1000 models that came with the B.O.S.S square slide secondary clutch. This clutch utilizes a center shaft which slides over the transmission shaft and allows the helix bushing to be much larger for increased durability. It uses designs that have been utilized for years on snowmobiles to "float" the clutch on the transmission shaft. This allows the secondary clutch to self-align with the primary for improved belt longevity and performance. This conversion is calibrated with a High Load clutch kit designed for elevations of 4500' and above in high load environments such as sand, mud or when up to 2" larger tires have been added. Note: If performance modifications, larger tires or weight have been added to the General XP 1000, please let us know so we can tailor your clutch kit accordingly. All clutch kits are developed using Polaris OEM Belts: 2020-22 General XP 1000 - #3211180. Using any other belt may require additional clutch tuning. Some specialized tools are highly recommended for the installation of this SLP clutch kit: - Clutch Cover Removal Tool #20-303 (magnetic flex nut driver to remove and install the clutch cover screws) - Belt Removal Tool #20-306 (compresses the secondary clutch to easily remove the belt) - Primary Clutch Holding Tool #20-202 (holds primary clutch from turning while removing or installing the clutch on the tapered shaft, also holds the secondary clutch stationary when removing or installing the retaining bolt) - Primary Clutch Puller #20-136 (removes the primary clutch from the tapered crankshaft) - Clutch Press Tool #20-222 (compresses clutch for ease of dis-assembly and re-assembly when under spring tension)
